On April 30, 2026, the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Nador (FPN) hosted a prestigious event that resonated far beyond its walls: the second edition of the International Conference on Human Mobility and Cultural Encounters. Organized by the Master’s Program on Translation, Culture, and Digital Media alongside the Master’s Program on Media Studies and Intercultural Communication, this study day transformed Amphitheatre S and Rooms E3 and E4 into a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary scholarship. The conference delved into the complexities of our globalized "networked society," exploring the mobility paradigm through the lenses of migration, digital media, and translation.
The day began with inspiring welcome speeches from the Dean of the Faculty and the Organizing Committee, setting a collaborative and rigorous tone for the proceedings. A highlight of the morning was the keynote speech by Prof. Kebir Sandy of FLSH, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fes, who, under the moderation of Prof. Mohammed Belbacha, offered a deep dive into Moroccanness and the post-national reimagining of belonging.

A profound debt of gratitude is owed to the Organizing Committee for their meticulous planning and to all the participating professors and scholars whose research made this day a landmark in Moroccan academia. This gathering was more than a conference; it was a testament to the power of intercultural dialogue and the enduring relevance of the humanities in understanding our mobile world.
